    Nights away from Natalie

I’ve never spent a single night away from Natalie since she was born. Well, I finally feel ready to be able to do so as I’m going on a Girls Ski Trip this weekend! I won’t be gone–leaving around 4pm on Friday and then coming back Sunday sometime. When my friend Marissa brought up the idea to me, sadly the first thing that popped into my head was “oh man, that means a lot of of the frozen milk will get used” (I’m such a milk hoarder)…but I need to just let go and have some fun. Fortunately, I do have enough frozen milk for Matt to use over the…

    Time to lower the mattress

Oh man, this afternoon, after changing her diaper, I put Natalie in a sitting position in the crib.  Before I knew it, she grabbed the railing and pulled herself up to a kneeling position!  It won’t be long before she figures out how to pull herself up to a standing position!  Time to lower the mattress! While I’m at it, here’s a little more of Natalie cute overload:

    Hitting the gym

It’s been FOREVER since I went to the gym.  It’s really pathetic…like, pre-pregnancy pathetic.  Not that I was super hardcore in my routine before but I did go to the gym regularly enough to participate in classes and such.  Then I got pregnant and freaked out about lifting a finger at all during my first trimester so I just chilled.  Then in my second trimester, I looked for classes since I’m a class person.  I need classes to keep me motivated.  Unfortunately, the PRO Club didn’t offer a single pregnancy class.  They had one that was offered on a random T/Th schedule at 1pm (and seem to think all pregnant…

    Missed a Milestone

I knew that there would be a day in which the nanny would be the first to experience a milestone of Natalie’s…before me and Matt…and that day was today.  Natalie apparently sat up by herself!  She went from her belly to a sitting position.  That’s so awesome since she often will get frustrated after sometime laying down or on her belly until one of us puts her in a sitting position.  I’m a little bummed to have missed seeing this milestone but I know that by being apart from Natalie for 8-9 hours a day, it is inevitable.  I just really hope to see her crawl or walk first…but I…

    1.11.11 Snow

On Jan 11th, the weather gods came together and got it to snow in 49 of the 50 states (Florida was the hold out!).  It got cold enough in WA state that we got some pretty awesome snow.  Unfortunately, by morning, temperatures warmed up and that precipitation just turned into rain.  By the afternoon, most of the snow had melted away.  Anyway, here is a series of videos I took the evening it snowed just to show how much snow was coming down.  It so rarely snows here so it’s quite exciting when it does: 8:30pm 10pm 11:30pm

Back in the swing of things

I got to take a really nice break from work — there was a reorg shortly before I returned from maternity leave; as a result, teams were spread out all over the place.  On top of that, facilities wanted to “refresh” our offices by putting in new carpeting and painting one wall of every office with some sort of accent color.  So, management gave everyone from 12/17/10 at 5pm to 1/5/11 at 8am off!  The week after our parents all left, the nanny was still working and I still had that time off…so Matt and I had a series of “date afternoons”, mostly consisting of getting lunch somewhere and then…
